EMS responded to calls for a major accident at U.S. 290 near FM 1376 just before noon Saturday, finding the three victims dead on arrival. Six other victims were transported to area hospitals, including one who was airlifted.

Authorities say four people were killed and four others were injured in a three-vehicle accident outside Fredericksburg in Central Texas.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety, the driver of a white Toyota sedan was traveling westbound in the inside lane, lost control of the vehicle and struck a brown Chevrolet pickup traveling in the outside lane. This caused the car to veer over the double yellow centerline and into the eastbound lane, according to Sergeant Orlando Gus Moreno.
