Two construction workers were transported after a three-car accident took place just before 2 p.m. Thursday at I-10 and Culebra on the upper deck, according to SAPD. The incident started with a San Antonio ISD bus stalled on I-10 near Culebra on the upper deck headed to Edison, SAPD said. A SAPD patrol car was parked behind the bus while maintenance was being done. An inattentive driver stopped at the last second to avoid hitting the SAPD car and caused a three-car crash, SAPD said. The last car in the wreck was a maintenance truck carrying ladders in the back that went through the back windshield. Two construction workers were transported to an area hospital, SAPD said. The 15 students on the San Antonio ISD bus were relocated to another bus and were never in any kind of danger, SAPD said. The upper deck of I-10 was closed while emergency crews responded.
