Ronald E. Martin, 64, critically injured, taken to hospital, after losing control of his tractor-trailer and crashing on Southeast Loop 410, near San Antonio.
Man hospitalized after tractor-trailer spins out on Southeast Side.
A man was taken by helicopter ambulance to San Antonio Military Medical Center hospital after a tractor-trailer he was driving spun out late Tuesday on Southeast Loop 410 near the Sinclair Road exit.
Ronald E. Martin, 64, of Arlington, was driving a blue 2007 Volvo tractor-trailer southbound in the far left lane of Loop 410 just after 11:30 p.m., according to police. The whole rig went off the main roadway and into a grassy median before Martin tried to merge back into the main lane, according to police. The tractor, but not the trailer, was on the roadway when Martin overcorrected, causing the trailer to fishtail, according to police.
Martin lost control and his rig crossed two lanes of traffic, striking the guard rail and causing the tractor to roll over, according to police. The trailer skidded across the roadway, ending with the whole rig facing oncoming traffic in the far right lane, according to police.
