Pedestrian killed by 2 cars on East Side identified
The Bexar County Medical Examiner's office identified a pedestrian who died after being hit by two cars on the city's East Side on Friday.
Harold Johnson, 74, was pronounced dead in the 4000 block of Interstate 10 after he was hit by two vehicles while crossing the highway early Friday.
The medical examiner's office ruled the death an accident.
Johnson was first hit by a Toyota Camry, which hit the man so hard its windshield was crushed before he flew off and landed on the highway. A second Toyota Camry then ran over Johnson and dragged him about 25 feet, according to police.
After Johnson came loose from under the vehicle, the second Toyota swerved to the right, lost control and began to skid sideways, according to police. The car went into the grassy median, where it flipped on its side.
Both drivers stayed at the scene and were not injured, according to police.
The crash closed the highway for two hours. No charges were filed.
