"It is impossible for me to comprehend how someone can hit another human being and drive away," Spiegel said. "You hit animals on the street and even people render aid to animals. I can't imagine hitting another human being and just walking away. It's unbelievable to me."
Family wants justice for hit-and-run accident
The family has since filed a police report. They tell us they believe the driver was in a dark-colored suburban. If you have any information or may have seen anything, call police.
David De La O, was in an intensive care unit after being struck by an SUV late Thursday while riding his bike home from Flesh Electric, his tattoo shop on McCullough and Ashby. De La O told authorities that a dark-colored SUV hit him after it ran a stop sign. De La O's family is asking the driver to come forward and take responsibility. A fund has been established to raise money for David's medical bills.
