The driver involved in a multi-vehicle accident in College Station late this morning has died. According to the College Station Police Department, 50-year-old Clifford Degner from Caldwell was having serious medical issues when his pick-up truck struck the back of a Lexus sedan causing the two vehicles to become stuck together. When the car turned right on New Main Drive, the two vehicles detached. Witnesses say Degner was slumped over the wheel. His truck hit a tree, fence and brick wall at the front entrance of campus, before coming to a stop. Degner was transported to the College Station Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. CSPD says the road is now open once again.
