Bountiful motorcyclist crashes, dies in Logan Canyon

A Bountiful motorcyclist died in a Logan Canyon crash Friday. About 1:30 p.m., Craig Allen, 31, was driving west when he went off the road, up an incline and was thrown from the motorcycle near mile post 468.
A Bountiful motorcyclist died in a Logan Canyon crash Friday. About 1:30 p.m., Craig Allen, 31, was driving west when he went off the road, up an incline and was thrown from the motorcycle near mile post 468. Craig Allen, 31, died Friday when his motorcycle went off the road in Logan Canyon. After the crash, the motorcycle caught fire, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. The 2002 Honda motorcycle also caught fire sometime after the crash, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. A Division of Wildlife Resources officer was driving east through the canyon when he noticed the fire and called for help. The officer also tried to render first aid to Allen, but he had not been wearing a helmet and died at the scene, according to the UHP. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
