Climber dies in Zion National Park
The climber fell from near the top of Moonlight Buttress, said park spokesman David Eaker. The 1,200-foot route in Zion Canyon requires ropes and harnesses. Other climbers, who were not associated with the man, saw him fall about 12:30 p.m., according to a statement by park staff. Rangers found the man's body at the base of the route. He had died at the scene.

"(It's) a very sad situation," park superintendent Jeff Bradybaugh said in a statement. "Our condolences go out to the individual's friends and family."
The body of the climber was found at the base of the route. The climber has not yet been identified by investigators, pending family notification. Officials did say the man is from outside of Utah.

Klimt was top solo climbing the 1,200-foot route and had rope fixed on the upper three pitches when he fell, the park service said.
