A Canyons School District bus driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash Thursday morning.

The 63-year-old school bus driver, a substitute working for the district since August 2014, acknowledged having taken an undisclosed prescription medication about five hours before the accident, police said.

A Canyons School District school bus crashed at the roundabout at Sage Hollow Drive at around 7:15 a.m. Thursday morning. The bus left the roadway right as it was entering the roundabout, damaging several trees and a street sign. No one on the bus was injured. The bus driver is believed to have been driving under the influence.
