Larry Litizzette, 56, was hit and killed by a train Saturday afternoon in Spanish Fork Canyon. He was an award-winning and well-respected teacher at Mountain Crest High School in Hyrum.

56-year-old Larry Litizzette was on a duck hunting trip with his son at the time of the accident. The Utah County Sheriff's Department said in press release that Litizzette was seen walking on the rail line when he was hit by the train.

His son told authorities that the impact of the train threw Litizzette's body into the river below, he was killed instantly.
