28-year-old Amber Bellows of Salt Lake City died on Saturday afternoon while attempting a BASE jump off Mount Kinesava. Bellows was with her husband, Clayton Butler, 29, at the time of the accident. The couple had been married for just two weeks. The couple hiked up Mount Kinevasa Saturday morning and Bellows was the first to jump. Her parachute failed to open correctly and she fell to her death. Butler told authorities that his wife's parachute malfunctioned and she fell approximately 2,000 feet. Rescue crews located the victim's body in a remote area of the park around 10 a.m. Sunday morning. It's the first BASE jumping fatality in Zion National Park and BASE jumping is illegal at Zion.
