UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said that both the Nissan’s driver, 16-year-old Katherine P. Marcus, and her passenger and brother, Taylor Marcus, 12, were ejected despite wearing seatbelts. Both were dead at the scene of the 1:06 p.m. Thursday accident at the junction of Highways 6 and 89.

None of the three occupants of the Jeep were seriously hurt, Royce said.

The Jeep was eastbound on Highway 6 when the Nissan, northbound, suddenly drove into the Jeep’s path and was T-boned, UHP said.

The Jeep’s driver told troopers there was no time to avoid the collision.
