Virginia Beach man hurt in fatal crash in Prince George County

Right now, Prince George County Police say they think alcohol was a contributing factor to the crash. So far, no charges have been filed.

Fatal crash leads to prison time

Jesse A. Tomlin, 26, was sentenced in Prince George Circuit Court Thursday to 10 years in prison with all but 11 months suspended after he pleaded guilty in February to one count of involuntary vehicular manslaughter.

A Virginia Beach man was injured in a collision that killed one person in Prince George County early Sunday morning. Jesse Tomlin, 25, of Virginia Beach, was driving a vehicle that exited the road, collided with a culvert, and overturned at approximately 2 a.m. on Ruffin Road in Prince George. Tomlin was airlifted to VCU Medical Center. A passenger, Donna Broadnax, 19, of Hopewell, was taken to another Richmond area hospital. A second passenger, Shawn Hambleton, 26, of Hopewell, was pronounced deceased at the crash site after being ejected from the car.
