Virginia State Police Investigate Louisa County Fatal Crash

The other driver was flown to the University of Virginia Medical Center with serious injuries. The crash occurred around 8:50 a.m.

The driver of the second vehicle was med-flighted to UVA Hospital with serious injuries. Police say a one-year-old in the second vehicle was not injured. Police say the crash involved two vehicles.  

Teenager killed in 2-vehicle crash in Louisa County

The driver of the 2005 Volvo, 28-year-old Sara D. Thaw of Bumpass, was transported to UVA Hospital via med-flight with serious injuries.  A 1-year-old in her car had been properly restrained and was unhurt. The driver of the Hyundai, 18-year-old Michael S. Phillips, also of Bumpass, died at the scene. Troopers say both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
