Crystal Mae Byers, 31, dies, one injured in collision on Studley Road and Rural Point Road in Mechanicsville, Virginia

Police responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Studley Road and Rural Point Road around 3:40 p.m. Investigators say a Nissan Xterra travelling east on Rural Point Road failed to stop and yield right of way. '€œThe Nissan Xterra continued into the intersection and was struck on the passenger side by a 2002 International Truck traveling North on Studley Road,'€ Sergeant Matthew Ratchford said. The passenger of the Nissan Xterra, 31-year-old Crystal Mae Byers of Glen Allen, was pronounced dead at the scene, Ratchford said. The car'€™s driver was transported to VCU Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured. '€œWe extend our sincerest condolences to the family of Crystal Byers,'€ Ratchford said.
