Hit and run driver that struck child leaving ice cream truck arrested

RICHMOND, Va. '€” An arrest was made after a young girl was struck while leaving an ice cream truck on Monday. The six-year-old was leaving an ice cream truck and getting ready to cross Littlepage Street when she was struck. Police arrested Linwood Eddleton, 45, of the 2800 block of Wellington Street, who they said drove away from the scene after hitting a six-year old girl in the 1400 block of Coalter Street. She was taken to VCU Medical as a precaution, police said, treated for scratches and bruises and then released. A Richmond Sheriff'€™s Deputy located Eddleton'€™s vehicle 30 minutes after the incident on N. 20th Street.
