Minivan driver killed in crash with school bus in Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia State Police say the driver of a minivan that collided with a bus has died. Media outlets report the crash happened Friday morning on state Route 150, known as the Chippenham Parkway. No children were on the bus.

It all started when a Ford Tempo broke down on the right shoulder. After getting it back up and running, the driver pulled out and started merging into traffic. Police say that’s when the car was hit by a Chevy Impala that was approaching. The Ford Tempo overturned and ran into an embankment. A Chesterfield County school bus slowed down because of that crash. When it was almost at a stop, a fourth vehicle, a mini van, crashed into the back of the school bus.
