1 dies, 1 hurt in Whidbey Island crash

Washington State Patrol Trooper Mark Francis reported shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday that the collision occurred on Highway 525 near Clinton.

Police are investigating the woman for vehicular homicide. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

One person has died and another has been taken to Harborview Medical Center after a two-vehicle crash on Whidbey Island.  Troopers report that one vehicle was southbound on SR 525 when it collided with the guardrail, then crossed the centerline and crashed head-on into an oncoming car. Troopers were still on the scene late into the night. Authorities are investigating the crash and believe alcohol usage was a factor.
