Woman dead after being struck by train in Marysville

"Preliminarily it appears this was a suicide," Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said in a press release late Tuesday night.

The death of woman hit by a train Tuesday night is being investigated by Marysville, Washington police. Officers responded to the call at approximately 9:30 PM to the Burlington Northern tracks at the 9200 block of State Avenue. Collision investigators were working the scene, shutting down 88th Street while the train was stopped. Investigators report that accident was likely a suicide. The age and identity of the woman are not yet available. We will have more information on this tragic story as new details become available.
