Man dead after being struck by train in Tacoma

The victim, who has only been identified as a 35-year-old man, was on the BNSF main line tracks about a mile north of the Tacoma Amtrak station when he was hit. Loretta Cool with the Tacoma Police Department said it appears the man was walking along the tracks and didn't know the train was coming. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
