NB lanes of I-77 closed at Goldtown following tour bus crash involving Gregg Allman's crew

WSAZ has confirmed The Gregg Allman crew was on the tour bus that crashed near the Kanawha-Jackson County line early Wednesday morning.

The crash happened about 5 a.m. between the Haines Branch and Goldtown exits.

Hot coffee blamed for Allman tour bus crash

Boggs said driver error was the cause, but the driver will not be cited according to Boggs.

“The driver, according to his own statement apparently got choked on coffee and apparently caused him to lose control of his bus,” the sheriff said. “We haven’t cited him and don’t intend to.”
