La Crosse County Sheriff’s Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 53 around 6:30 p.m. Police have released one man is dead after a head on collision Sunday evening near Holmen. The Wisconsin State patrol is assisting the sheriff’s department with the reconstruction of the crash. The driver of the SUV 22-year-old Victor Maldonado Mendoza was airlifted to Gundersen Medical Center and died as a result of his injuries. An SUV heading north bound crossed the center line and struck a truck head on.
