1 killed, 1 injured in Walworth County crash

One person was killed and another was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Walworth County Monday morning, officials said.

Around 9:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash in the area of 5791 Highway 36 in the town of Lyons. The driver, Taran Q. Raczka, 22, of Burlington, was taken to Burlington Hospital then flown to Froedtert Medical Center in Milwaukee. The passenger, Jeffrey S. Bonsall, 45, of Delavan, was pronounced dead on the scene. Raczka was driving east on Highway 36 when he lost control for unknown reasons and struck a tree. There were no indications of Raczka braking before hitting the tree. Bonsall was trapped in the vehicle, and was extracted before he was pronounced dead. An autopsy is being performed Tuesday to determine the exact cause of death.
