Dunn County deputies found the owner of the vehicle, identified as Michael Sonnentag of Cadott, around 6:45 a.m. walking along Stokke Parkway Road in Menomonie, Wisconsin.
$50,000 cash bond set for Sonnentag
Two van occupants not wearing safety belts were ejected from the van and were pronounced dead at the scene. Killed were passengers Larci Ricafrente, 28, of Waterford, Mich. and Djamila Sugatan, 28, from the Philippines.
A van that held eight people was found in a ditch off of I-94. The two victims who died were pronounced dead at the scene, while the six who were injured have already been taken to local hospitals, treated for non-life threatening injuries, and released. A car with frontal damage was discovered, and the owner, Michael Sonnentag, was found and taken into custody.
