Two men struck by a Miami-Dade Transit bus were taken to Ryder Trauma Center Monday night, including a victim who was found under the bus, authorities said.
Paramedics removed a 44-year-old man from beneath the bus at the Omni Bus Terminal at 15th Street and Biscayne Boulevard, a Miami Fire Rescue spokesman said.
The man, who had head and hand injuries, was cared for by a quick-thinking security watchman until help arrived.
Two people were killed when the Porsche they were riding in crashed into a guardrail and ended up in a canal in northwest Miami-Dade Friday morning.
The crash happened just before 2 a.m. on eastbound State Road 836 just east of Northwest 42nd Avenue, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to the FHP, witnesses said the 2014 Porsche was traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with the inside guardrail and continued about 500 feet, crossing all lanes of traffic and crashing into the south guardrail, splitting it in half.
A 21-year-old woman was killed after a car traveling in the wrong direction on the Sawgrass Expressway struck a car she was in early Sunday morning, according to officials. Marisa Caran Catronio, from Coral Springs, was pronounced dead on the scene following the collision, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Authorities said a 2004 Hyundai Sonata being driven by 20-year-old Kayla Maria Mendoza was going the wrong way eastbound on the Sawgrass Expressway westbound lanes when it struck a 2012 Toyota Camry head-on at about 1:45 a.m west of University Drive.
Authorities say Delgado was behind the wheel of a Ferrari that collided with two cars on I-75 just north of Northwest 138th Street. Jorge Arrojas, 60, was killed in the crash, while Miguel Larrieu was left seriously injured.
