State police say one person was killed and two others seriously injured in an overnight crash in Norwood involving seven vehicles.
State police say three consecutive crashes occurred at the same spot on Route 95 at about 2 a.m. Wednesday.
A driver is safe after his car fell into the ice on Lake Massapoag in Sharon.
Police were notified of the car into the ice around 9 p.m., they said they are unsure why the driver was on the ice in the first place.
The driver, a male in his late teens, was able to get about 100 yards from shore before he ran into trouble.
Emergency responders were having trouble pulling the car to the shore.
Police are calling it a “miracle” no one was hurt when a woman crashed her car through the front door of a local hardware store, coming to rest in the middle of the artificial Christmas tree aisle.
Shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday, police say a 51-year-old Scituate woman went to the Aubuchon Hardware Company to pick up some ice melt. Knowing the bag would be heavy, she wanted to back her Honda CRV up to the front of the store.
While backing up, police say the woman mistakenly hit the gas instead of the brake and that’s when she smashed through the front of the building.
