A mechanical issue with a tire may have caused a Henry County wreck that killed one person and seriously injured another, police said Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday on I-75 southbound just south of Jodeco Road and blocked two lanes for several hours, according to Henry County police. Around 3:30 p.m., all lanes of I-75 were re-opened.
Investigators believe a problem with a tire may have caused the white F-150 to overturn, ejecting both the driver and a passenger, Smith said. The single-vehicle crash remains under investigation.
All southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Henry County were closed for several hours Wednesday after a box truck and another vehicle collided.
The accident happened around 11 a.m., just north of the Jonesboro Road exit.
Authorities said the commercial box truck was traveling south in the far right lane and a Dodge Magnum was traveling in the far left lane.
The box truck made an improper turn into the Dodge Magnum, causing a collision. Both vehicles then traveled through the guard rail.
