A 60-year-old man lost control of his car and crashed into a Winter Park home, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Peter Love, of Winter Park, crashed into a home near Raiders Run and Heritage Boulevard, not far from Aloma Avenue and Semoran Boulevard, the FHP said.

According to troopers, Love was driving a 2011 four-door Nissan eastbound on Raiders Run and lost control for an unknown reason. The car left the roadway, went through a yard and struck a house at 3141 Raiders Run.

Love suffered minor injuries and was taken to Winter Park Hospital.

Officials are investigating the death of a man and what caused him to veer off the road in his truck, swiping a tree, then coming to rest in the median of the road Sunday morning.

Officials said 55-year-old Shawn Earl Sullivan was traveling westbound on Wonderwood Drive around 9:55 a.m. when he traveled over the raised concrete curb, striking a small JTS Community Shuttle sign.

Sullivan then continued off of the curb and across all westbound lanes of Wonderwood Drive, going in the southwest direction before traveling over another curb and onto the center grass median.

Elizabeth Arellano Renteria, 21, and Hilda Marisol Medrano, 21 of Okeechobee are dead tonight after a fatal, deputy-involved car crash happened just after 2:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, said a spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol.

Northbound lanes of Interstate 95 were shut down due to a vehicle and brush fire in Volusia County Saturday.

Firefighters said one person died as a result of the accident.

Firefighters said the fire started around Mile Marker 258, just south of Daytona Beach in the northbound lanes of I-95.

Firefighters said a the vehicle ran off the road, hit a tree, caught on fire and the fire then spread into woods.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said one other person was injured from the accident.

A Central Florida couple is dead after their motorcycle crashed into a garbage truck.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office reports Michael Stanley Cox and his wife Yvette Marie Cox were riding in a Harley Davidson after going to Publix Saturday afternoon in Lakeland.

The two were traveling south on Lakeland Highlands Road when a garbage truck driven by Bobby Caswell crossed in front of them.

Investigators say Cox may have tried to take evasive action but the motorcycle struck the side of the truck.

Orlando police shut down a stretch of Interstate 4 due to a deadly accident early Saturday morning.

Police said the accident involved five cars in the westbound lanes at Princeton Avenue.

Police said the accident killed two people and was the result of a wrong-way driver.

Westbound lanes of I-4 were shut down starting at Kennedy Boulevard and continuing to Princeton Boulevard.

Local police agencies and the Florida Highway Patrol were kept busy over the holiday weekend as they investigated a slew of fatal accidents. Florida Highway Patrol said four people died in three separate accidents in Volusia County Saturday, while two more died in an accident on Interstate 4 Saturday morning. The accidents varied from a wrong way driver that killed two people early Saturday morning on Interstate 4 at Princeton Avenue to a fatal RV accident that killed a driver Saturday afternoon on Interstate 95.

A motorcyclist was hurt Friday morning in a crash near the intersection of Forest Hill and Southern boulevards.
The wreck occurred at 10:55 a.m., according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

When emergency crews arrived, they found the motorcyclist had been struck by a vehicle and was lying in the road.
The man, whose name has not been released, was transported to Delray Medical Center by Trauma Hawk for treatment.

Four people were hospitalized after sustaining injuries in a vehicle rollover accident in Boca Raton Friday night, a spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. Three of the patients were taken to Delray Medical Center with traumatic injuries, and one of the patients was transported to West Boca Medical Center with less serious injuries, Borroto said. The rollover accident happened around 10:43 p.m. in the 9200 block of Southwest 8th Street in Isles of Boca Dunes in Boca Raton. When rescue crews arrived, they found a three-vehicle accident with one vehicle on its side.

Authorities have arrested a man they say sped through a red light and crashed into vehicle, killing an Ocala couple. The Florida Highway Patrol arrested 30-year-old Allen Cole Godwin on Thanksgiving Day. He's charged with two counts each of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide in the Oct. 24 crash that killed 67-year-old Ray Allen Kraus and his 64-year-old wife Pamela Jean Kraus. The FHP estimates Godwin was travelling 78 mph when he ran the red light. Tests revealed his blood-alcohol level was .19, well above the state's legal limit of .08.
