Minneapolis-St. Paul, MNCheron Swanson, 68, of Dayton, was driving east on County Road 81 Friday around 4 pm when she was struck head-on by a car driven by Michael Kelley, 54, who was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane. Kelley, of Dayton, was also killed in the crash. A vehicle traveling westbound on County Road 81 had crossed over into the eastbound lane, causing an initial two-car sideswipe collision. The sideswiped vehicle then hit another vehicle. Three people suffered non-critical injuries in this first crash.

Duluth, MN-Superior, WIA single-vehicle rollover took place on Willow River Road about 15 miles Southwest of Orr at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. Leona Ruth Connor, 32, was driving a Chrysler Concorde westbound when she lost control on a corner and rolled into the north side ditch. Connor was transported to Essentia Health Virginia Hospital with non–life threatening injuries. Her passenger, Derrick Laroque, 34, was taken to Cook Hospital, and later airlifted to a Duluth hospital with serious injuries. Alcohol was a factor, and the crash remains under investigation.

Saturday, September 20, 2014The suspect fled on foot after the crash and was arrested about two hours later near the Paragon Chateau movie theater in northeast Rochester, about 5 miles from the scene of the accident. Authorities believe the 57-year-old Rochester man was under the influence of alcohol, says Sgt. Dan Monnet. A 29-year-old woman and two juvenile passengers transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys Campus for treatment; the extent of their injuries is unknown.

La Crosse-Eau Claire, WIA school bus driver was swaying with poor balance and smelling of alcohol when Winona County authorities responded to a crash. The bus, with five children on board, had gone off the wrong side of Fern Valley Road near Altura and crashed into trees.
Karl A. Herber, 54, of Rollingstone, Minn., was charged with three counts of drunken driving and child endangerment after registering a .09 blood-alcohol level when tested more than two hours after the crash Tuesday afternoon, the Winona County Chief Deputy.

Minneapolis-St. Paul, MNA 22-year-old Maple Grove man died Saturday in a snowmobile crash in north-central Minnesota, authorities said.
According to a statement from the Todd County Sheriff’s Office released Sunday:
Authorities received a report of a missing man at 11:23 a.m. Saturday.
Friends of Jared Wallenfelsz said they had last seen him driving a snowmobile away from his family’s cabin on Long Lake about 1:30 a.m. that morning.
