A car containing two teenage boys was attempting to pass a vehicle that was in front of them, but ended up striking a third vehicle, departing the road, and finally coming to rest after running into a bridge rail. Both of the boys remain in the hospital in critical condition, but the driver of the vehicle that they struck was uninjured. A pickup operated by John R. Bradstreet was driving northbound when it crossed into Michael B. Berman’s lane, striking him head on.  A third vehicle was unable to avoid the crash, but that driver suffered only minor injuries. Berman and the third driver were wearing seatbelts, but Bradstreet was apparently not, and both Berman and Bradstreet were pronounced dead on the scene of multiple trauma.

A 35-year-old driver from Cut Bank, MT has been hospitalized and a 38-year-old passenger from Browning, MT has been killed in rollover accident on Highway 213 in Glacier County, north of Cut Bank, Montana. The vehicle went off the road, the driver overcorrected, and struck an electrical pole on the opposite side near mile marker 4.5, and rolled many times, ejecting the driver. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt and alcohol is suspected to be a factor.

Westbound traffic on I-90 was completely blocked after the accident, which happened when the driver of the SUV attempted to pass the tractor trailer and apparently lost control. Bryan Stene, an Idaho trucker who witnessed the accident, said "in 23 years of driving I've never seen anything like this." Stene also said he saw the SUV go off the road and roll as the occupants were thrown from the vehicle.

Yellowstone County officials are investigating the cause of the crash, and they say an autopsy did not uncover any medical reasons. Toxicology results could take up to two months.

The passenger of the car that was rear-ended was taken to the hospital with neck injuries. After the crash, a woman got out of the offending vehicle, and a passenger then took the driver's seat and fled the scene.

Of all people involved in the crash, only one passenger in the Suzuki (the car responsible for the rear-end collision) was injured. They were taken to the hospital for facial cuts. The driver of the Suzuki will be ticketed for following to close.

BBrown died when his car was hit head-on while driving on Montana Highway 84, near Norris.  He pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol did not appear to be a factor, officials said. The 39-year-old was wearing a seat belt; Brown was not.

Joseph J. Morelli, a student at Montana State University in Bozeman, was driving with a 20-year-old passenger in a Subaru Impreza on U.S. Highway 287 when the crash happened. Velasquez said alcohol is believed to be a factor, but the incident is still under investigation. The passenger escaped with minor injuries.

According to Schnider Funeral Home, the Belt driver died of injuries suffered in the crash on Saturday.
