44-year-old Jeffery Wayne Robinson was allegedly speeding south on Jordan Lane at approximately 4:30 a.m. when he veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole at the intersection with Oakwood Avenue. Both Robinson and his 24-year-old female passenger, identified as Amberely Nichole Maclin, sustained injuries described as life-threatening, and were transported to the hospital where they are listed in serious to critical condition.

A white Impala was traveling on Mastin Lake Road at high speed at around 8:15 p.m. when witnesses say the driver ran a red light and collided with a grey Toyota Corolla. The Impala struck the Corolla on the driver side door, and the force of the impact pushed the Corolla into a blue car at the other end of the intersection. The driver of the Corolla, identified as 19-year-old Toniette Katherine Piccinich, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver in the blue car had to be extricated from their vehicle, and wa taken to Huntsville Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Sharen Shields was riding in a car on Highway 98 and Ralph Schumacher Lane with two other people when their vehicle was rear-ended while stopped in traffic. The force of the impact pushed the car 30 feet. Shields was taken to a local hospital where she later died of her injuries. Shields' sister, Karen Sims, and her niece, Natalie Sims, sustained injuries in the crash. The driver of the other vehicle, Rogelio Moreno-Salazar, 23, was arrested and charged with with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.

William Fredrick Evans Jr. was driving erratically and at a high rate of speed on Highway 31 at 10:50 p.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a traffic sign, then crossed Morris Majestic Road and hit a tree. Witnesses believe he may have been experiencing a medical emergency at the time of the crash. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

At around 7:45 p.m. Sunday 16-year-old Austin Ray Augustine of Wetumpka was driving a 2003 Infiniti G35 on Firetower Road in Wetumpka when it collided with a Dodge Charger patrol car driven by 50-year-old Deputy James Bart Hart. Augustine was killed, as were two16-year-old passengers in his vehicle: Dylan Adler Bieber and Hoyt Elliot Hardin, both of Wetumpka. Another passenger in the Infinity, Nicholas Benjamin of Eclectic was airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Benjamin and Hart were wearing seatbelts but the others were not, according to troopers.
