Around 11:45 p.m., a Dodge County deputy attempted to stop a driver of a motorcycle, but it fled at a high rate of speed. Less than a minute later, the motorcycle left the roadway and hit a power pole near the intersection on St. Helena and Fox roads. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the accident. The only occupant of the motorcycle was the driver, Jerred Gerlach, 22, a Horicon man, who was killed in the accident.
