Jasim Alkuraishi, 76, of Northridge, killed, 25 year old Pico Rivera man and his passenger, a 15 year old Pico Rivera boy, and 23 year old Northridge woman injured in a three vehicle accident on the 10 Freeway, just west of Rosemead Boulevard, in Rosemead, CA. A stalled Honda in the fast lane, driven by the 25 year old man, was hit from behind by Alkuraishi's Nissan. A second Nissan then struck Alkuraishi's vehicle.
Steven Dzimitrowicz, of Dolgeville, killed, and Nicole Davis and her 4 year old daughter, of Johnstown, injured after a car accident on State Route 29 in Johnstown, NY. Dzimitrowicz's Chevrolet crossed over the center line and struck a Toyota SUV around 4:10 p.m. Friday. Dzimitrowicz was taken to Nathen Littauer hospital in Gloversville where he was later pronounced dead. Davis and her daughter were both transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam with minor injuries.
Lee County deputy was found at fault in an accident that killed Austin Dukette, 15. Deputy Douglas E. Hood was cited for careless driving following a two-month investigation. Austin was riding his bike to school on August 22nd and Hood hit the back tire of the boy's bike, from behind, with his patrol car on Kismet Parkway and Northwest Seventh Avenue, in Cape Coral, FL.
