The fatal collision happened at 1:45 p.m. on U.S. Highway 27 at Cagan Crossing Boulevard, when Ira Caldwell, 92, was traveling in a 2006 Cadillac and drove into the path of Alexandra Schultz, 20. The collision caused her vehicle to travel onto the shoulder of U.S. 27, colliding with the workers, all of whom were pronounced deceased at the scene. The workers were identified by the FHP as Jeremy Bradshaw, 35, of Albany, Georgia, Dewey Summerlin, 34, of Franklin, Georgia, and Jeffrey Estes, 40, of Ringgold, Georgia.
