It was about 7:02pm when a 19-year-old woman who was carrying her 2-year-old son in a car seat was crossing Mascher Street, just steps away from their home, and was struck by a white, four-door sedan. The collision knocked the woman underneath a parked pickup truck, and sent her son onto the sidewalk. Both of the victims were taken to Episcopal Hospital by a Good Samaritan with critical injuries, and while the woman is expected to survive, the toddler remains in extremely critical condition. The vehicle that hit the pair, which reportedly contained two men, fled the scene of the accident.
