A man stole a Jet Ski from an industrial area off Dimond Boulevard and loaded it onto a trailer on the back of a pickup truck, and headed north on Old Seward Highway. A witness called police and they caught up with him at International Airport Road and C Street. The officers attempted to stop the man, but he instead initiated a chase. Police chased for a short time before hanging back due to public safety concerns. The man had begun running red lights, and soon after he crashed into a traffic sign at Fireweed Lane and Arctic Boulevard.

A collision occured at the intersection of Parks Highway and Vine Road when Kelsey Brewer, 26, allegedly failed to stop for a red light and struck a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Kjera N. Maitland. Both cars sustained so much damage they had to be towed from the scene. Neither person was injured. Both were wearing their seat belts.

After Darlene Nicholia reportedly ran a red light, her pickup truck collided with another pickup truck driven by William Redfern. Neither driver sustained life-threatening injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts and had airbags that functioned properly. The accident is still under investigation.

A woman died hours after being involved in a Friday evening crash in Midtown, however police are still trying to figure out if injuries from the crash caused her death. Police report that around 7:30 p.m. 35-year-old Bjarne Rasmussen was driving a white sports utility vehicle when he drove through a stop sign and into the intersection of 40th Avenue and Denali Street. The SUV collided with a Yellow Cab sedan that carried a driver, two adult women and a 2-year-old.
