One person has been sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Athens Highway at Gaines Mill Road. A red Ford Ranger was driving northbound around 3 p.m. Monday in the left lane. In the turning lane, a white van was traveling south on Athens Highway headed toward Gaines Mill Road.
A small plane has crashed not far from Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport, in Gainesville, Georgia, killing Lawrence Youhanaian, 74, and injuring Kelly Chandler, 50, who is a flight instructor at Lanier Flight Center. Investigators are as of yet uncertain if the plane was taking off or landing. Engine trouble is suspected as the plane hit power lines before crashing and catching fire upon impact.
Cleveland resident Roger Gee, 32, was killed on his motorcycle Friday night in North Hall County, when he struck a 1995 GMC Jimmy after passing another car at Price and Thomas Roads in Gainesville, Georgia.
CBS46 has confirmed that a fifth person has died as a result of an accident that occurred in Hall County Monday morning. The latest victim was a 3-year-old child. We also have learned the identities of two of the victims. The driver is identified as 34-year-old Amanda Pardue and the front seat passenger as 53-year-old Robbie Harris. Both are from Gainesville. Police also say 13-year-old Dalton Martin also died in the crash. The accident occurred about 10:45 a.m. Monday on Athens Highway and Oak Grove Road. GSP says the crash involved a tractor trailer and a Ford Explorer.
Authorities are investigating a crash in Hall County that left five people hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
A State Patrol Trooper stated that an RV traveling north on Georgia Route 365 on Sunday hit a minivan. Police stated that upon impact, an unoccupied Jeep the RV was towing became unhitched, veered down an embankment and landed in a lake.
Five people who were injured were taken to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
The person driving the minivan will be charged with failing to obey a traffic light. The driver's name hasn't been released.
