After a warm-up from our bone-chilling temperatures came measurable snow, which caused significant delays during the Thursday morning commute.

Multiple crashes have backed up traffic on Interstate 35E southbound near Highway 8 in Forest Lake. The right lane of the interstate was blocked as crews responded to the scene, and many vehicles were seen off the road. At this point it's unclear if there are any injuries.

A school bus driver was swaying with poor balance and smelling of alcohol when Winona County authorities responded to a crash. The bus, with five children on board, had gone off the wrong side of Fern Valley Road near Altura and crashed into trees. Karl A. Herber, 54, of Rollingstone, Minn., was charged with three counts of drunken driving and child endangerment after registering a .09 blood-alcohol level when tested more than two hours after the crash Tuesday afternoon, the Winona County Chief Deputy.

An SUV ran off icy Interstate 94 Tuesday morning on the western edge of St. Paul and crashed, leaving the driver dead, authorities said. The crash occurred about 7:35 a.m. on westbound I-94 soon after the SUV left southbound Hwy. 280, according to the State Patrol. The man behind the wheel has been identified as Uriel Isodoro 29. The patrol described the interstate as ice-covered at the time.

A 34-year-old man has died after a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash early Sunday morning, according to authorities. Authorities said 32-year-old Jeanne S. Fisher, of Frederick, Wis., was driving a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus southbound on State Highway 35 near Luck Township when she hit the man, who was walking southbound in the traveled portion of the road. The pedestrian, who authorities say is from Milltown, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Polk County Medical Examiner Office. The crash remains under investigation, authorities said. At this point, additional details have not been released.

A 45-year-old St. Paul man is dead after a crash on the Lafayette Bridge Saturday morning. The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the head-on crash that happened in the northbound lanes. There was limited information released about the accident. The State Patrol said it involved one vehicle, a 1999 GMC Yukon. Authorities are working on notifying relatives before they release the man's name.

A two-vehicle crash Friday morning on the southeastern edge of Otsego has left one person dead.

A car spun out Friday morning on a snowy highway in Otsego, sending the driver into a deadly collision with an SUV heading the other way, authorities said.

The collision occurred shortly after 7:20 a.m. on Hwy. 37, about a half-mile west of Hwy. 101, according to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.

Killed was a 55-year-old woman from Otsego, the Sheriff’s Office said, adding that she was wearing a seat belt. Her identity has yet to be released.

One person is dead after a single vehicle accident in White Bear Lake overnight.

Just after midnight on Friday, police say a car rolled into the center median of northbound Highway 61 at Buffalo Street.

White Bear Lake Police and the Minnesota State Patrol responded and say the driver was dead at the scene.

The victim was later identified as Steven Buche 53, and cause of accident have not been released.

A 22-year-old Maple Grove man died Saturday in a snowmobile crash in north-central Minnesota, authorities said. According to a statement from the Todd County Sheriff’s Office released Sunday: Authorities received a report of a missing man at 11:23 a.m. Saturday. Friends of Jared Wallenfelsz said they had last seen him driving a snowmobile away from his family’s cabin on Long Lake about 1:30 a.m. that morning.

Four people were hurt after a head-on crash involving an ambulance in Buffalo Township Saturday morning. The collision happened on County Highway 35 Northeast and Eaken Avenue Northeast around 1:30 a.m. The Wright County Sheriff's Office says an Allina Ambulance, which was west on County Road 35, had one patient and two EMTs inside when it collided with an eastbound SUV. The SUV had one person inside. Everyone was taken to various hospitals. Names have not been released. The crash remains under investigation.

A 51-year-old man from Buffalo, Minn., was killed in a snowmobile crash over the weekend. According to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Craig Peitz was on a trail parallel to Endicott Avenue Northwest in Silver Creek Township around 3 p.m. Saturday. Officials say Peitz was going southbound on the trail when he came over a hill, hit a snow crest and was thrown from the snowmobile. Peitz was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The incident is still under investigation by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
