Gallatin County officials have released the name of a 48-year-old Bozeman man who was struck and killed by a semitrailer while riding a bicycle on a frontage road near Bozeman.
The coroner's office says Kevin Patrick O'Brien died at the hospital after the crash on Wednesday morning. He had previously lived in California.
Police say O'Brien was riding his bike eastbound at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday when he swerved into the roadway in front of a semi. Officers say the driver of the semi was unable to avoid hitting him.

Beartooth NBC reports the victims are Crystal Ross, 30; Matthew Boegli, 29; Breighton Boegli,4; and Peighton and Maddison Boegli both age 3.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol the five people were headed west on Highway 12 right around 9:00 p.m. Thursday the 19th. Their truck collided with a Three Forks fire engine headed eastbound.
Both of the vehicles burst into flames. Three Forks Fire Chief Todd Rummel was also killed in the crash.

A man was killed and another injured after being thrown from a motorcycle near Sidney on Monday night.
The incident occurred at 10:25 p.m. near the intersection of County Road 350 and Holly Street, according to Montana Highway Patrol officials.
The 29-year-old driver and 31-year-old passenger were both from Sidney.
The motorcycle was southbound on County Road 350, when it drifted into the westbound shoulder on a straight stretch of road, officials said.
