Reid Bryant Huffman, 19, struck and killed by hit-and-run driver on Federal Boulevard in Denver, Colorado

Denver Police have identified a 19-year-old man suspected in a fatal hit-and-run late Saturday at Federal Boulevard and Dartmouth Ave. Eliu Jiminez was arrested after a police helicopter followed the hit-and-run vehicle to Iliff Ave. and Irving Street. The victim, later identified as Reid Bryant Huffman, 19, was crossing Federal at about 11:10 p.m. when a car travelling southbound struck him, throwing him into the north-bound lane. Another vehicle hit him there, and left the scene, a Denver Police spokesman said on Sunday. Police arrested Jimenez several blocks away. The driver of the first car to hit the pedestrian stopped. Police suspect that alcohol was involved in the accident, police said. The victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Jiminez is being held for investigation of Vehicular Homicide, Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Accident and DUI. The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner will identify the victim.
