A fiery single-vehicle crash in Daytona killed the vehicle's sole occupant, according to officials.

The crash happened in the 2900 block of South Atlantic Avenue just after midnight.

Investigations reveal the silver Toyota hatchback was traveling southbound at speeds up to 110 mph on South Atlantic Avenue when it hit a curb. The vehicle was sent airborne and struck a light pole.

The car exploded on impact and was fully engulfed by fire before officers arrived.

South Atlantic Avenue was shut down during the investigation and re-opened around 6:30 a.m.
