Cyclist critically injured in crash with Jeep in DeLand

The crash happened around 11:55 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of New York Avenue and Hill Avenue. According to DeLand police, Eric Pitre was headed eastbound when he was struck by a Jeep Wrangler driven by Lauren Davids, 18, of Ocklawaha. 
Petre is currently in critical condition. Police said it appears that Petre turned into the path of the SUV, but an investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed against Davids.
