Robert Sweeney, 56, killed after his SUV leaves I-91 roadway and crashes in Franklin County.

A Greenfield man is dead after the SUV he was driving rolled over and trapped him in the vehicle in Whately.

State police say 56-year-old Robert Sweeney was alone in the car and died at the scene of the Saturday morning crash.

Troopers responded to the crash involving the single vehicle on southbound lanes of Interstate 91 shortly after 8 a.m.

The crash caused police to close all southbound lanes of I-95 and divert traffic to Route 5 at Exit 5 while experts investigated the scene.

Police say investigators are trying to determine additional facts and circumstances of the crash.
