A man was arrested Monday after another man was killed in a northeast Oklahoma City traffic accident, police reported.

Dustin Shane Hall, 31, was arrested on complaints of driving under the influence of drugs and causing a fatality accident and being without a state driver's license, police said.

Ronald Banton, 27, was driving about 11:30 a.m. eastbound on NE 10 near Standish Avenue, when he stopped to turn left.

Hall was driving behind Banton and looked down. When he looked back up, he crashed into Banton's car.

Banton was taken to OU Medical Center, where he died.

Hall was treated and released at St. Anthony Hospital. He was taken to the Oklahoma County jail and is being held in lieu of $6,000 bail, a jail official said.

Shortly before 7 a.m., Joshua D. Kidd, 31, of Moore, was driving a pickup eastbound on Interstate 240 west of S Pennsylvania Avenue, troopers said.

The pickup went out of control and rolled over, troopers said.

A woman died Thursday afternoon in a southwest Oklahoma City traffic accident, Oklahoma City police reported.

Police were called to a single-vehicle accident about 12:15 p.m. near SW 119 and Interstate 44, a police Sgt. said.

Officers at the scene said the driver of a pickup lost control, crossed over the service road and drove through a barbed wire fence, Wardlow said.

An 8-year-old boy was hit by a truck and killed while crossing the street with his sister in Queens on his way to school Friday, the last day before the winter break.

The truck hit the third-grader, Noshat Nahian, as it turned from 61st Street onto Northern Boulevard, where he and his 11-year-old sister were crossing.

Opelika police are investigating a fatal car accident.

Saturday evening around 8:30 p.m., Opelika police and the Opelika Fire Department responded to Waverly Parkway and Priester Road for a car crash. They found 42-year-old Anthony Shane Hurst had been struck by an SUV while crossing the street.

A man was airlifted to a local hospital after an accident in Carrollton Tuesday night that also injured a teen passenger.

The single-vehicle accident happened just after 9 p.m. on Titus Creek Road at the intersection of Smiths Neck Road, where the driver of a 1999 Dodge Durango lost control and struck a tree, according to Virginia State Police spokeswoman.

Oklahoma City police are looking for anyone who witnessed traffic fatality Friday to call police to be interviewed.

Vickie Ayres, 66, was driving about 6:40 p.m. Friday on a bridge in the 8500 block of NW 39 Expressway near Lake Overholser when numerous vehicles lost control as the bridge iced over, police said. Ayres died in the multi-vehicle crash.
