Daniel Joseph Leffew, 44, killed, Tracy Carter, 31, seriously injured, transported to hospital, after their motorcycle leaves the State Route 183 roadway near Jefferson Township, and crashes into some trees and brush.

A Minersville man died in a motorcycle accident Monday in Berks County, and his passenger is in serious condition, state police at Reading reported Tuesday. Daniel Joseph Leffew, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 11:56 p.m. in the 7300 block of Bernville Road in Jefferson Township, police said. The passenger, Tracy Carter, 31, also of Minersville, was taken to Reading Hospital, and police said she was in serious condition. Both were wearing helmets, police said. The accident happened as Leffew crossed the center line while heading north on Bernville Road (Route 183), ran off the southbound side of the road, and through trees and brush.
