Mount Vernon woman killed in traffic accident

Alabama State Troopers say 49 year-old Tracy Sheffield was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night. State Troopers say Sheffield was driving a 1994 Toyota Corolla when she left the roadway, struck a guardrail, re-entered the highway and was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet S10. Officials say the Mount Vernon woman died at the scene. Saturday on Highway 45 at the 17.6 mile marker, ten miles north of Prichard. State Troopers continue to investigate what caused the wreck.
