A 16-year-old was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Tallapoosa County Wednesday morning.

Mid-morning crash kills 16-year-old boy in Tallapoosa County

The crash happened at 10:25 a.m. on Obed Loop Road, seven miles south of Walnut Hill. Benton, of Camp Hill, was driving a 1999 Ford F-250 pickup truck that left the roadway and overturned.

Chase Randal Benton was riding on Obed Lopp Road when his vehicle left the roadway and overturned. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was declared dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
