The Juneau Police Department said it had contacted the wrong Priest family while trying to identify the next of kin for 33-year-old Juneau resident Justin Donald Priest, who was the real victim from the Wednesday evening car crash.
A 33-year-old man and two passengers, a 30-year-old female and a 50-year-old male, were riding on Mendenhall Boulevard when their vehicle struck a tree. The driver was killed, the female passenger suffered minor injuries, and the male passenger is in the hospital for life-threatening injuries. Police believe alcohol and excessive speed may have been contributing factors in the crash. More information will be released once next of kin have been notified.
