1 killed, 2 hurt when car goes off I-5 in Los Angeles County

The California Highway Patrol says one passenger was killed and two other people were injured when a car careened off Interstate 5 and crashed through a fence in northern Los Angeles County. CHP Officer Patrick Kimball says the single-vehicle accident occurred shortly before noon Saturday in the Castaic area. Officials say three people in the silver Mercedes were transported to hospitals.

On Saturday, about 11:40 a.m., the driver of a silver-colored 2015 Chevrolet, identified as 49-year-old Fernando Ochoa, also of Vacaville, was driving in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, south of Parker Road in the fast lane at 65 miles per hour when the crash occurred.
