A two-vehicle crash Wednesday injured 11 people, including children, on northbound I-5 just north of La Palma Avenue.

A two-vehicle crash Wednesday injured 11 people, including children, on northbound I-5 just north of La Palma Avenue.

Authorities issued an hourlong SigAlert that was canceled around 1 p.m.

The crash happened about 11:45 a.m. when a red Mini Cooper in the No. 2 lane made an unsafe lane change and hit the side of an GMC Yukon, California Highway Patrol Officer Stacy Willits said. The Yukon spun across all lanes, hit the center divider and overturned, she said.

“There were no other vehicles involved, which is pretty much a miracle,” Willits said.

The Yukon, which had Utah license plates, was carrying 11 passengers. All suffered minor to moderate injuries and were taken to local hospitals, Willits said.

The female driver of the Mini Cooper and her male passenger were uninjured.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
